She has been called"a horror queen" for her horror film work. The actress gained recognition for her character Marnie Michaels in the HBO comedy drama series Girls that aired between 2012 and 2017. Her role on the show earned her nominations for Critics' Choice Awards. Her big break came when she played the part of Rose Armitage in the horror film Get Out (2017), that earned her nominations from The MTV Movie Awards and the Screen Actors Guild Awards among other accolades.
